Which law applies
This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to visitors from the EU/EEA, the legal basis is named in each section.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Hostinger, UAB, Švitrigailos str. 34, LT-03230 Vilnius, Lithuania. Each time a page is opened, the server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, the page and files requested, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. The logs are not combined with other data and are kept only as long as needed for that.
GDPR legal basis: legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Embedded films
Films on the project pages are played through Kinescope, a video platform run by Kinescope B.V., Emmen, the Netherlands. When you open a project page, the player and its preview images load from Kinescope’s servers. Your browser then sends Kinescope your IP address, the page you are on and technical browser data, and Kinescope may store cookies or similar data on your device to run the player. I have no control over this. For details see Kinescope’s privacy policy.

If you write to me by email, I use your address and message to reply and to handle any work that follows. I keep it as long as needed for that, and longer only where the law requires it, for example Swiss rules on keeping business records.

Links to other sites
Links to Instagram, my agents and other sites only take you there when you click them. From then on, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
Data abroad
Hostinger and Kinescope process data in the EU (Lithuania and the Netherlands), which Switzerland recognises as having adequate data protection. Hostinger states that it also runs servers outside Europe; the safeguards it uses are described in its privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, and receive it in a common format. Write to rokas@sydeikis.com.
If you think your data is handled unlawfully, you can complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland or, in the EU/EEA, to the data protection authority where you live.
